A tip from a local business led to the arrest of a Senatobia man on charges of embezzlement.
On July 27, 2022, Senatobia Police Department was contacted by Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM), located off of Scott Street, and reported theft of property.
Patrol officers and an investigator from the department’s Criminal Investigations Division were dispatched to the business to meet with management. During the meeting police officers were informed of a theft of constructions materials which occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 23.
The approximate value of the stolen materials was $10,000.
Officers were informed the responsible person was an employee and currently at work.
CCM management was able to provide investigators with enough evidence and a decision was made to arrest the employee on scene.
Gary Saulsberry, 53, of Senatobia, was arrested and transported to SPD for booking on the charge of felony embezzlement.
Saulsberry was transported to the Tate County Jail for housing. His bond was set at $15,000.
This investigation is ongoing. Investigators believe Saulsberry did not act alone in the crime and more arrests are expected.
