Circuit court judgments
Tate County Circuit Court records show the following sentences were among those handed down during the February 2026 Vacation terms of court.
According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Jimmy McClure’s court:
• James Earl Wilkins, of Coldwater, was sentenced to 40 years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of possession with intent to sell cocaine – two to 10 grams as a habitual and recidivist offender. He had three charges of possession with intent to sell cocaine – less than two grams as a habitual and recidivist offender and a charge of felon in possession of weapon as a habitual offender remanded to the file.
Wilkins must pay $2,091.90 in court costs.
According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Smith Murphey’s court:
• Richard Alan Hill, of Coldwater, was sentenced to three years non-adjudication after guilty plea on a charge of possession of marijuana – 30 to 250 grams. He must pay $1,916.50 in court costs.
• Ricardo Kelly, of Senatobia, had his probation revoked to serve 12 years in (Mississippi Department of Corrections) MDOC on a charge of armed robbery. He must pay $2,955.25 in court costs.
• Timothy Quandarius Mason, of Jackson, Miss., was sentenced to two years in MDOC and eight years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of felony false pretense. He must pay $2,563.50 in court costs.
• Alex Dewayne Wells, of Memphis, was sentenced to 15 years in MDOC and 10 years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of burglary of a dwelling as a habitual offender. He had charges of conspiracy as a habitual offender and grand larceny as a habitual offender remanded to the file. Wells must pay $611 in court costs.
Some of the final decisions reported here may be the result of plea negotiations. By law, circuit court judges are not involved in plea negotiations. Most sentences are the result of a negotiated agreement between the district attorney and defendant.
