A juvenile is being charged as an adult in connection with a Coldwater crime.
Police Chief Rickey Dandridge said Demarion Kentrell Rucker, 17, of Coldwater was taken into custody Monday, March 23 and charged with armed robbery, petit larceny and resisting arrest. Rucker was detained at the Tate County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
Dandridge said CPD received a complaint from a victim claiming he was robbed while visiting a residence in Coldwater. Rucker was identified and arrested a short time later.
A spokesman for the Tate County Jail said Rucker was served with a warrant from the Mississippi Department of Corrections for violating terms of his probation related to a 2024 armed robbery in Coldwater.
Rucker was sentenced in Tate County Circuit Court for his role in the crime and ordered to serve one day in MDOC and four years post-release supervision after pleading guilty to a charge of conspiracy. The armed robbery charge was remanded to the file.
Dandridge said the current incident remains under investigation and urges anyone with information to call Coldwater Police Department at 662-622-7979 or Tate County Crime Stoppers at 662-301-1111.
