BOONEVILLE - The Northeast Mississippi Community College football program boosted the talent on its roster during national signing day.
The Tigers added 23 new players to their lineup on Wednesday, February 4. Northeast also brought in three mid-year signees as part of its 2026 recruiting class.
“Our coaching staff did a phenomenal job all season long,” said Tigers headman Greg Davis. “We feel like we did a wonderful job. We got guys in the boat early.”
JP Foley (OL/Magnolia Heights) is a multi-time all-state recipient in the private school ranks. He helped the Chiefs reach the state semifinals during his senior campaign.
Trey Wallace (DB/DeSoto Central) was a first-team all-region performer following a senior campaign for the Jaguars that featured 30 tackles, 10 pass break ups and four interceptions.
Desmond Ball (DB/Clarksdale) led his team to a region championship and the Class 4A quarterfinals. He totaled 47 tackles, nine pass break ups and four interceptions during his senior season. He had 17 pass deflections and seven picks over his final two years.
Kaleb Barnes (OL/Amos P. Godby [Fla.]) is rated as a three-star prospect by recruiting service 247Sports. He was part of an offensive unit that averaged just under 400 yards per game with 45 touchdowns.
LaPaul Boykin (DL/Booneville) was a second-team all-area selection by the Daily Corinthian following his junior season. He was a three-year starter for the Blue Devils and an all-division recipient.
Adarius Brown (DB/Lafayette) was a two-way performer at the prep level. He totaled 31 tackles while also rushing for 308 yards and a touchdown during his senior campaign.
Rokari Covington (LB/Kosciusko) was a first-team all-state recipient that participated in the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Game. He led the Whippets as a senior with 113 tackles while adding 12 tackles for loss and three sacks.
Jaxon Dandridge (LB/Pontotoc) racked up 78 tackles, including eight of them for loss, during a solid senior campaign. He was a second-team all-division honoree for the Warriors.
Tytus Davidson (DL/West Point) was a second-team all-state recipient for the Class 5A state runners-up. He registered 37 tackles, seven tackles for loss, six quarterback hurries and a sack during his final season.
Trell Dorrough (WR/Calhoun City) was a key playmaker on both sides of the ball for the Class 1A state champions. He caught 15 passes for 161 yards with a touchdown for the Wildcats.
Shane Farmer (ATH/Calhoun City) was a two-way threat for the Class 1A state champions that earned first-team all-state honors as a linebacker. He also grabbed 21 receptions for 494 yards with nine touchdowns.
Miles Foster (DB/Center Hill) totaled 28 tackles as well as four pass break ups during a solid senior season for the Mustangs.
Donovan Hawkins (DL/Tupelo) participated in the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Game. He wrapped up his tenure with the state runners-up Golden Wave by recording 38 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, one sack and one safety.
Ja’Quavius Jackson (OL/Northside) was a first-team all-state selection on the line for the Class 2A state quarterfinalist Gators.
Jaylen James (DL/Callaway) was a multi-sport star for the Chargers with varsity letters in the sports of basketball and cross country as well.
Jermil Jeffries (LB/Tupelo) competed in the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Game after leading the Golden Wave to the Class 7A championship contest. He tallied 59 tackles, including five for loss, along with a forced fumble as a senior.
Xae Mayes (QB/Biggersville) was Mississippi’s Mr. Football for Class 1A after rolling up 4,129 total yards of offense. He led the state by averaging nearly 300 yards per game along with 40 passing touchdowns as a senior.
Xion Miller (OL/Escambia [Fla.]) was a standout lineman in the Florida panhandle that competed in the Pensacola Sports All-Star Game at the conclusion of his senior year.
Micah Pledger (RB/Jasper [Ala.]) was selected as the co-offensive most valuable player for his school. He rushed for eight touchdowns as a senior, including three in one game against Columbia.
Isaiah Respert (OL/Howard [Ga.]) was a four-year starter in the trenches and a three-time all-region selection at the prep level.
Jacob Settlemires (OL/Kossuth) is a multi-time All-Area selection from the Daily Corinthian. He helped the Aggies win their region championship as a senior.
Dee Slaughter (WR/North Pontotoc) caught 36 passes for 976 yards with 13 scores during a standout senior campaign. He had at least one touchdown reception in eight of the Vikings’ nine regular season contests.
Xavier Thomas (LB/Northside) was a first-team all-state selection that participated in the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Game following a standout senior year for the Gators.
Colt Whitacre (QB/West Point) was the starting signal caller for the Class 5A state runners-up. He passed for just shy of 1,000 yards with 11 touchdowns during his final prep campaign.
Justin White (WR/West Point) was one of the top wideouts for the Class 5A state runners-up. He caught 37 passes for 388 yards with one touchdown for the Green Wave.
Andrew Winfun (ATH/North Pontotoc) directed the Vikings’ offense with more than 3,000 combined yards between passing and rushing. He threw for 220 yards or more in seven of their 10 games and combined for 38 touchdowns.
