Get set and gear-up for the biggest weekend of the year in downtown Senatobia as Five Star City Fest brings fun for the whole family Friday and Saturday. To make things even better, there is no charge for entry to enjoy the music and festivities.
Events kick off Friday, May 6 at 5 p.m., when Drew Sherrod takes the stage to play until 6 p.m. The bell rings for start time of Not Yo Mama’s 5K race at 6:30 p.m. Bonfire Orchestra takes the live stage to perform from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m.
Also present on Friday and leading into all day Saturday is the Carnivore’s Corner BBQ Competition & Steak Cook Off.
Things get started bright and early Saturday, May 7, with gates opening at 8 a.m. to feature the Chrome & Classic Car Show. Shortly following at 9 a.m. vendors will be ready to showcase their goods beginning at 9 a.m. with the Arts & Crafts and Kids Zone in Gabbert Park. The car show, kids zone and arts & craft fair will remain open until 3 p.m.
The daytime music line up at Gabbart Park stage will feature the Senatobia High School Jazz Band from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The 5 Star Talent Search Finals will be held from 11 a.m. until noon. Then Mulberry Jam will take the stage from noon until 2:30 p.m.
Beginning at 4 p.m., the Tobie Town Throwdown- Corn Hole Tournament will begin. The event will feature both an amateur tailgate division and a professional division.
For Saturday evening’s music line up at the main stage, Amber Rae Dunn will be on stage from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. Bailey Bigger Band will take over from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Carlous Robinson and NMRB will be on stage from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Finally, Lily B Moonflower Band will round out the night from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m.
Food trucks will be available all weekend.
