This weekend will be packed full of events for the family at Senatobia’s Five Star City Fest, presented by BankFirst, kicking off this Friday with Senatobia Main Street’s annual Not Yo Mama’s 5K race.
The race will begin Friday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by Guaranty Bank & Trust and The Baddour Center, participants are encouraged to walk or run the course.
The course begins on Front Street in downtown and runners will face a trek which trails around historic homes and businesses.
The cost of the event is $30 for 5K runners or $25 for Spirit runners. Spirit runners do not have to participant in the 5K but will receive a t-shirt.

Registration is open for Carnivore’s Corner Barbecue Contest & Steak-Off as well.
The cook-off presented by Elite Builders and Louisiana Grills, will test chefs in a number of areas and offers a wide variety of categories for competition.
To be eligible for the Grand Champion prize of $300 cash, a hand-crafted trophy and a new grill donated by Louisiana Grills, contestants must enter all the following categories: chicken, exotic, sides, beef, pulled pork, ribs and steak. Contestants must provide their own meats except for the steak. For the Steak-off, two ribeye steaks will be provided. Meats will be inspected prior to cooking. Meats may not be pre-cooked, sauced, spiced, injected, marinated or cured in anyway prior to the inspection.
Contestants not seeking the Grand Champion trophy can enter the categories above, in addition to Best Setup, dessert, chicken wings, bologna, and cocktails. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to each first-place winner.
There will also be prizes for second and third place winners. Entry fees vary by category.

Senatobia Main Street and 662 Cornhole will present local people and those from further away a chance to try their hand in winning $1,000 in trophies and cash prizes.
The tournament will be separated into two categories with teams vying for the top honors as champions. The two divisions are Tailgaters for the casual cornhole enthusiast and Champions for professional cornhole players.

Calling all car enthusiasts! Senatobia Main Street is ready to present the annual Chrome & Classic Car Show as part of the Five Star City Fest set for Saturday, May 11, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Presenting sponsor First Financial Bank and Ronnie’s Hot Rod have organized the event for fans of all ages.
Located in downtown Senatobia on Front Street, the show is open to all makes and models of cars and trucks. Cost is $20 for pre-registration and $25 to register the day of the event.
There is no cost for public admission to view the vehicles. There will be cash prizes, car games, door prizes, goody bags and trophies.
