Colossians 3:17 “whatsoever you do in word or deed do all in the name of the Lord…”
This means by the authority of Jesus Christ. we can not act on our own and be pleasing to God. We cannot decide what sounds good to us, what feels good to us in worship to the Lord, we cannot have traditions of men and be pleasing to God. Matthew 15:9 “ in vain they do worship me teaching the doctrines and commandments of men”
Matthew 28:18 “and Jesus came and said to them all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
Hebrews 1:2 “ but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed the heir over all things…”
So you see Jesus has all authority, we must go to the scriptures to see how He wants us to worship Him. Don’t listen to some man
We must go to His word.
The New Testament authorizes things in three ways
Declaration acts 20:27
A statement or command romans 6:3-4, Acts 10:48
Approved example Philippians 3:17
And necessary implication 2 timothy 2:7
We must go to the scriptures to see if the things that we are doing are in line with what the bible says.
What we call ourselves, how we worship, what we teach.
We invite you to come worship with the Church of Christ, we meet every Lords Day at Van Dorn street in Grenada.
