Dear Editor,
Why would voters of all ages believe this big lie?
It is easy for us super sanctimonious patriots that are al- ways at the polls on election day to cast judgement on these poor sinners.
“They’re lazy, self-absorbed, ignorant and uninformed citizens”. You think?
What if that is not true?
What if we are observing the fruits of years of neglect and brain washing?
Before we had an authoritative medical system, people would visit the old sages in their community to find remedies for their health issues. Now if you share that kind of information you are practicing medicine without a license and can be arrested. Ever wonder why all the nutritional commercials always encourage you to check with your doctor?
What we are really being told is that we are not smart enough to make decisions about our own health.
Then there is the legal profession. You cannot practice law without a license. So we are told we need a lawyer to make the decisions for us and act on our behalf and these lawyers get to tell us what their time is worth. We make less than 30 dollars an hour and they charge us 300 dollars an hour for their time.
You can’t get a divorce, buy a home or sue for damages without one.
Wait! There is one exception: Justice Court. You can go there without a lawyer.
Then there is religion. Sadly it’s another arena where citizens are taught that someone else’s opinion is more important than their own.
Our churches teach us that we are simply not capable of interpreting the word of God without their help. It’s called doctrine.
Finally, there is education. We live in a society where parents think that the education of their children should be the responsibility of someone they don’t even know. Covid shined a big light on that mistake.
If our opinion is not important in the areas of health, legal issues, religion, and education, Why would we think it is important on election day?
The short answer is that we would not feel the compulsion or need to go vote because we don’t think our opinion will count. Let someone else do it. So today we are observing the societal fruits of a brainwashed electorate. People actually believe that they don’t make a difference.
We could say that society is deaf and blind and if that is true, what are we going to do about it?
Well folks we have a precedent to guide us. You know, the examples that historically guide a judges decision.
It is the life of Helen Keller who was deaf and blind. One person took it upon herself to make a difference in Helen’s life and what a difference she made.
That difference can be summed up in the words of this famous poem by Helen Keller entitled
“I am only one”. “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.”
Maybe it’s time for us super sanctimonious patriots to do the one thing we can do.
Maybe it’s time for us to go out and encourage someone to vote and to let them know how important their opinion is to the future of our great republic.
