Who but an omnipotent God commands the power to bring armies to their knees, walk among us, and ascend back into the heavens? "Has anyone gone up to heaven and come back down? Has anyone grabbed hold of the wind? Has anyone wrapped up the sea or marked out boundaries for the earth? If you know of any who have done such things, then tell me their names and their children's names" (Proverbs 30:4, CEV)!
You have not come to the knowledge of the Truth concerning wisdom if you do not fear the power of God. Where were you when He laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me if you have sufficient knowledge and understanding of His deeds. "He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses" (Psalm 135:7, NLT). The wind blows in multiple directions, and this season we witnessed His power in Zeta, Delta, Bertha, and other storms. Job said that God fixes the weight of the wind and measures out the water.
Has God put wisdom in your heart and understanding in your mind? Jonah was in the middle of his foolish thinking when "The LORD hurled a great wind on the sea, and there was a great storm on the sea so that the ship was about to break up" (Jonah 1:4, NASB). In his foolish and prejudicial state of mind, he thought he could run away from God but ended up in the belly of a fish? The results of God's power are visible to us. Do not be amazed at this. "Just as you don't know the path of the wind, or how bones develop in the womb of a pregnant woman, so also you don't know the work of God who makes everything" (Ecclesiastes 11:5, CSB).
Like King Solomon, we need to set our minds to study and establish the will to explore all that is done under the heavens. King Solomon acknowledges the depth of responsibility given to mankind, saying: "What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind" (Ecclesiastes 1:13, NIV)!
King Solomon concluded that mankind had a heavy burden, but Jesus said, "This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light" (Matthew 11:30, CEV). If we love the Lord with all that we are then His commandments are not burdensome. Remember the devotion of your youth, witness His power, and let's make God GREAT again in Spirit and Truth!
