Dear Editor,
If you think you are powerless to do anything that will influence the outcome of the Nov. 3 election, then read on.
Helen Keller has been quoted as saying, ““I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.”
The one thing you can do is pray!
The day before election day should be a National Day of Prayer and it will be this year for many Americans, including a small group here in Senatobia who want to invite you to join them in prayer for this nation.
On Monday November 2, at 2:00 PM you have an opportunity to join other like-minded people at the Old Merle Norman store on the bypass, to pray for our nation.
If you are not conservative, or a Christian, or an individual who believes our very way of life and future are at stake on November 3rd, stop reading, go no further.
If you are concerned, then you should join the prayer group on Monday.
It is imperative that the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives is controlled by conservative men and women who support our constitutional form of government. You may be a Republican, Democrat or Independent voter but the choice we have to make is quite clear. What the progressive left and Democrat Party are planning to do to this nation will destroy life as you have known it and it will destroy your prosperity. Simply put, this is a make or break moment in the history of America.
Now that is something to pray about.
The prayer group that is meeting on Monday November 2, is affiliated with a national prayer effort entitled “S.T.A.N.D”. (Stand True to American’s National Destiny.)
The stated goal of this group is
“To unite Americans as one nation under God for the preservation and defense of our Judeo-Christian heritage and values, Constitution, free market economy, national security and the freedom of every citizen.”
So, you and I are being invited to participate in a national prayer effort. We should be praying for our leaders as well as the outcome of the election. Our very way of life is at stake.
Our scriptural mandate for prayer is found in 1 Chronicles 14:7
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Please pray for our nation, and that God will destroy the malevolent efforts of those who would overthrow our Constitutional Republic.
(You may join the local group for prayer on Nov. 2, at 126 Norfleet Dr., Senatobia, MS, at 2 p.m.)
