They say good things come to those who wait. The truth in this old wive’s tale has never been more evident when Independence knocked off Byhalia 15-3. The Wildcats came into the game sporting a 2-7 record that easily could have been 5-4 had some of the extra inning losses gone their way.

In a game of pitch and catch, Bryson Davis donned the catching gear Thursday night while Butch Bryant stepped on the mound for Coach Edward’s Wildcats. Bryant went 3 innings allowing 3 runs on as many hits in front of 3 wildcat errors before surrendering the mound to Parker Hardison.
