Local schools gifted funds for art

Sycamore Arts recently gave money to art teachers in the schools in Senatobia and Tate County. Donations were made to further art education for students and to address needs of teachers in the art programs. With the slogan of Growing the Arts in our schools, teachers were presented with the checks.

Clara and Joe Burford of the Barr Community have just celebrated 70 years of marriage. Clara Francis Bishop and Shirly Joe Burford married on March 21, 1952. The marriage ceremony was held at the home of the Thyatira church of Christ minister, Plato Black, with a few friends in attendance.
