Circuit court judgments
Tate County Circuit Court records show the following sentences were among those handed down during the January 2026 Vacation terms of court.
According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Jimmy McClure’s court:
• Darris Darell Buford, of Como, was sentenced to eight years in Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and eight post-release supervision to run concurrently with previous sentencing after a guilty plea on a charge of possession of cocaine – two grams but less than 10 grams as a recidivist. He must pay $652.50 in court costs.
• Antonio Bernard Burton, of Senatobia, had his probation revoked to serve five years in MDOC on a charge of burglary of a dwelling as a habitual offender. He must pay $1,513.10 in court costs.
•. James Skylar Jones, of Southaven, had his probation revoked to serve 120 days in MDOC on a charge of grand larceny. He must pay $854.30 in court costs.
• Jay Christopher Welborn, of Coldwater, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication on a charge of attempt to commit mayhem. He must pay $1,627.50 in court costs.
• Colby Lockhart, of Senatobia, was sentenced to four years in MDOC and one-year post-release supervision on a charge of simple assault on an officer as a habitual offender and five years post-release supervision on a charge of simple assault on an officer as a habitual offender. He must pay $1,644.30 in court costs.
• Aubrey McComb, of Como, was sentenced to 242 days in MDOC and four years, 123 days post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of aggravated stalking. He must pay $1,593.90 in court costs.
According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Smith Murphey’s court:
• Roderick Lashaun Lee, of Senatobia, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication on a charge of burglary of a building other than dwelling. He had three other charges of burglary of a building other than dwelling and three charges of petit larceny remanded to the file. Lee must pay $5,024.10 in court costs.
• William Wilbourn, of Senatobia, has his probation revoked to serve 120 days in MDOC Technical Violation Center on a charge of possession of cocaine: 0.1 gram but less than two grams. He must pay $1,038.10 in court costs.
Some of the final decisions reported here may be the result of plea negotiations. By law, circuit court judges are not involved in plea negotiations. Most sentences are the result of a negotiated agreement between the district attorney and defendant.
