Senatobia and Tate County first responders are preparing for a yearly holiday tradition to give back to needy families in the community.
The 6th annual “Shop with a Hero” event takes place Thursday, Dec. 11, and pairs local children with law enforcement, firefighters and other emergency personnel for a special shopping trip.
The event takes place from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m., when heroes partake in the spirit of Christmas at Walmart in Senatobia and the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts on the Northwest Mississippi Community College campus.
“This provides an opportunity for underprivileged children to shop for holiday gifts in a positive, festive environment,” said a Shop with a Hero organizer.
If you would like to make a monetary donation, checks can be made out to “Senatobia Main Street” and earmarked “Shop with a Hero 2025”. They can be mailed to the Main Street office at 135 North Front, Senatobia, MS, 38668.
For more information about the event, contact police Sergeant Angelica Maze at amaze@senatobiams.gov or call 662-562-5643.
