Shirley Weathers Crockett, 89, of Looxahoma, Miss went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 15, 2026.
Shirley loved her family and supported them all any way she could. She loved being a Granna and Great Granna. Her favorite pastime was working in her yard and growing flowers. Shirley loved to read.
She worked in the Library at East Tate Elementary for many years. She shared her passion for reading with the students and encouraged them to read and even created a Read with William book worm character to encourage them. Shirley read and studied her Bible daily. She was a prayer warrior for her family and others.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Crockett and son, Billy Crockett.
She leaves behind her daughter, Beth Smith (Charlie); daughter-in-law, Gail Crockett; grandchildren, Nick Smith (Jamie), Leigh Wochomurka (Ryan), and Nathan Crockett; great grandchildren, Hayes and Hallie Wochomurka; Godson, Marco Freeman; sister, Katie Powers (Raymond) and sister-in-law, Linda Ogg.
Shirley was a faithful supporter of Hope Ministries in Senatobia. Memorials may be sent to Hope Ministries, 110 N. Robinson St., Senatobia, MS 38668.
A private graveside service was held Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Looxahoma Community Cemetery. Pate-Jones Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
