For the first time in over 70 years, a member of the “Warren” family is not on the active roster at Senatobia Fire & Rescue.
That’s because Ronnie Warren, also known as Unit 45, stepped down from his role as a volunteer firefighter after serving his community for 41 years.
Seven different men have held the title of U.S. President and several chiefs have led Senatobia Fire & Rescue during those four decades of selfless duty.
Warren, who currently works for the Senatobia School District, began his career as a volunteer in April 1984 in what was previously known as Senatobia Volunteer Fire Department under Chief Robert Latham.
The Warren firefighting bloodlines run deep. Ronnie had the pleasure of working alongside his father Cecil – who he replaced as chaplain in 1995 – brother Glenn and nephew Drew in his 41 years.
His uncle, Leon, was a founding member of Senatobia VFD in 1951.
“This department has meant so much to our family,” Warren said. “I have seen many changes, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve.
“I want to thank the members that I have served with, our city leaders that supported our department and the citizens of our town and county,” Warren added. “And a special thanks to my wife Judy and my family that supported me through the fire calls, meetings, schools and rescues.”
