Circuit court judgments
Tate County Circuit Court records show the following sentences were among those handed down during the June 2025 Vacation terms of court.
According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Jimmy McClure’s court:
• Michael Chadwick Dancy, of Coldwater, was sentenced to 30 years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell – 10 or more grams as a habitual offender to run consecutively with previous sentencing. He had charges of possession of fentanyl and 4-ANPP 0.1 to two grams as a habitual and recidivist offender and felon in possession of a weapon remanded to the file. Dancy must pay $2,204.50 in court costs.
• Brandon Michael Grace, of Senatobia, was sentenced to 12 days in Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and 10 years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of child abuse. He must pay $2,546.50 in court costs.
• Nathan Wesley Dean Hall, of Olive Branch, was sentenced to one day in MDOC and five years, 364 days post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of possession of controlled substance – heroin and fentanyl – more than 0.1 of a gram but less than two grams. He must pay $4,240.90 in court costs.
• Damion Pierre Jones, of Senatobia, was sentenced to 10 years post-release supervision to run consecutively with any previous sentencing after a guilty plea on a charge of malicious mischief – $5,000 to $25,000 as a habitual offender. He had a charge of felony fleeing as a habitual offender remanded to the file. Jones must pay $4,620.30 in court costs.
• Jatericka Lanae Saulsberry, of Como, was sentenced to three years non-adjudication after a guilty plea on a charge of possession of controlled substance – methamphetamine – 0.1 to two grams. She must pay $2,555.50 I court costs.
• Nathaniel Wayne Sexton, of Coldwater, was sentenced to complete intervention court after a guilty plea on a charge of burglary of a building. He must pay $2,145.90 in court costs.
• Dustin Wayne Smathers, of Batesville, had his probation revoked to serve nine years and 151 days in MDOC on a charge of receiving stolen property as a habitual offender. He must pay $19.20 in court costs.
• Baker Kamden Spencer, of Senatobia, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication after a guilty plea on a charge of voyeurism. He must pay $5,445.80 in court costs.
• Michael Lewis Taylor, of Sardis, was sentenced to five years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of felony shoplifting. He had a charge of conspiracy remanded to the file. Taylor must pay $2,098.04 in court costs.
According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Smith Murphey’s court:
• Marquette Barnes Jr., of Hernando, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication after a guilty plea on a charge of conspiracy to commit a crime – burglary of a dwelling. He must pay $1,846.70 in court costs.
• Rekikie M. Ramsey, of Coldwater, was sentenced to 20 years in MDOC and 10 years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of sale of controlled substance – cocaine 10 to 30 grams as a recidivist to run consecutively with previous sentencing. He had a charge of conspiracy remanded to the file. Ramsey must pay $1,794.50 in court costs.
• Billy Ray Sanders, of Augusta, had his probation revoked to serve 90 days in MDOC on a charge of grand larceny – $5,000 to $25,000. He must pay $1,296.87 in court costs.
• William Wilbourn, of Senatobia, was sentenced to 84 days in MDOC after a guilty plea on charge of possession of cocaine – 0.1 gram but less than two grams. He must pay $1,230.10 in court costs.
Some of the final decisions reported here may be the result of plea negotiations. By law, circuit court judges are not involved in plea negotiations. Most sentences are the result of a negotiated agreement between the district attorney and defendant.
