Everybody is for progress, but no one wants to slow down or have to change their routine.
Tate County motorists need to prepare for a temporary road closure as crews have begun infrastructure improvements along Arkabutla Road.
Work began Monday, Aug. 18, on the stretch of road between Doc Woody Road and Hidden Valley which will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to allow for multiple pipe replacements.
The work is part of a broader state aid paving overlay project aimed at improving road conditions and drainage in the area. Officials estimate the project will be completed by Friday, Aug. 22, weather permitting.
Local authorities urge motorists to plan alternate routes during the closure hours and to exercise caution near the construction zone. Updates will be provided if weather delays impact the schedule.
