Through the prophets and apostles, the Lord Jesus left us a warning concerning false prophets and deceiving spirits. Prophet Jeremiah said there were men prophesying lies whom God did not send.
Do you think that God anoints someone to lie to the people? Lying is a sin, and if your answer to this question is yes, then you need to reread God’s Word.
The Lord said: “They prophesy of visions and revelations they have never seen or heard. They speak foolishness” (Jer. 14:14). They lied in Jeremiah’s era, and they are doing it today.
When Christians take bribes and deny Christ, God is not a part of that corrupt behavior. God is sovereign, and we have free will.
Be alert and cautious, and "do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 Jn. 4:1).
They preach a gospel contrary to God’s Word. Scripture is specific on this matter: the Spirit says clearly that some people will abandon the faith and obey lying spirits (1 Tim. 4:1). They are deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.
Examine yourself and make sure you are not one of them.
They preach a message that lacks substance. The Apostle Paul said, “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience” (Eph. 5:6).
Do not be led astray by human traditions, deceptive people, and spiritual forces of this world. The Lord calls believers to freedom, but we must not use our freedom as an opportunity to serve the flesh (Gal. 5:13).
Do not listen to people who go from bad to worse, deceiving others, and being deceived in turn.
Many false prophets will come in His name, even claiming to be Christ. Let no one deceive you. Test the spirits; if they do not acknowledge that Jesus is God and came to earth in a human body, turn away.
He shared human flesh and blood that through death He might destroy the devil who had the power of death (Heb. 2:14). Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and release our fear of death.
Acknowledge Jesus, the Son of God, who came as a deliverer in a human body.
The Apostle John warns us, saying, "This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God" (1 Jn. 4:2, NLT).
“Do not believe every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they are from God” (1 Jn. 4:1).
By common confession, the mystery of godliness is great, and the enemies of Christ live to cast a shadow on good and convince people to reject godliness.
Test the spirits; the enemy of Christ lives.
