Tailback Jack Price rushed for 186 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead Magnolia Heights School to a big 63-28 division-opening victory Friday, Sept. 12 at Madison St. Joe.
The Chiefs (4-0, 1-0) racked up 491 yards of total offense including 339 on the ground as tailback Cayden Prestage added 70 yards and a score, and tailback D’Travious Jackson chipped in 67 yards and a TD.
MHS and St. Joe were tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter but the Chiefs exploded for 28 points in the second quarter to claim a 35-14 lead at halftime and never looked back.
Chiefs’ quarterback Brannan Overstreet helped fuel the win by passing for 152 yards and two touchdowns – both to receiver Griff Hill.
MHS travels to Pillow Academy Friday, Sept. 19, then returns home to play Heritage Sept. 26 and Jackson Academy, Oct. 3.
