Northwest men's and women's soccer coaches Mark Hogan and James Beattie have revealed the regular season schedules for their upcoming squads.
Following an August 14 exhibition match against MUW, both clubs will open the regular season against Blue Mountain College on Thursday, August 19, the inaugural meeting between the two institutions.
From there, the schedule will include non-division matches against Meridian, Copiah-Lincoln, St. Charles (Mo.) and Southwest Mississippi, while the Lady Rangers are also slated to take on Southwest Tennessee and Dyersburg State. Also highlighting the men’s portion of the schedule will be a match at Belhaven University on Monday, October 4.
Both clubs will open the division portion of the schedule on Friday, September 10 at East Central. The home division opener will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 21 against Itawamba at 1/3 P.M.
Northwest is fresh off an unconventional spring season, delayed from fall 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In Beattie's first year, the Lady Rangers finished 6-6 overall and locked up their first playoff berth since 2017, while a battle-tested men's squad finished 1-9-1 on the season.
All home contests will be played once again at the Senatobia Sports Park this season, due to ongoing construction of the new soccer facility on campus. Home matches will also be streamed live on nwccrangers.com/watch.
