Senatobia used 12 base hits and held Strayhorn to just three in last Thursday’s 9-4 victory against the Lady Mustangs.
Neither team scored until the top of the fourth inning, when the Lady Warriors added three runs. SHS would score another in the fifth and two more in the sixth, further stretching its lead to 6-0.
Even though the Lady Warriors extended the lead to 9-0 in the seventh, Strayhorn fought back in the home half of the inning, pushing across four runs. However, the Lady Mustangs were unable to fully complete the comeback.
Anna Hollis Faulkner and Kelsey Hoffman combined for three base hits apiece, while Bayleigh Sims added two of her own. Faulkner homered and was credited with three RBIs in the win, while Maci Claire Moore also finished the game with a double in her only base hit.
Hoffman also pitched a complete game in the circle, racking up 10 strikeouts against seven walks and four runs given up, though only one was earned.
With the win, Senatobia improved to 5-5 on the season. The Lady Warriors are slated to face Southaven on Friday, March 28 at 6:30 P.M., before traveling to Millington Central (Tenn.) on Saturday, March 29.
