James Tyler, 89, passed away Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025 at his residence in Canton.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel in Canton.
Visitation was from 1 to 2 p.m. at Culpepper Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Canton City Cemetery. Nolan Whitehead officiated
James is survived by his wife Ila Jolly Tyler; son James Mitchell Tyler (Benee); daughter Stacey Penn; grandchildren Heather Duplechain (Adam), Troy Tyler (Haley), Hunter Tyler (Rachel), Shelby Tew (Justin), Sydni Hughes (Christian), Eli Tyler, and Peyton Penn; and great-grandchildren Ellie Kate, Luke, Emery, Charlie, Cooper, Cam, and Lily James.
He retired from the Madison County Co-Op and had previously worked as the Farm Manager for Kendall Quinn.
He was a member of Center Terrace Church and was a veteran of the United States Army.
James was preceded in death by his parents Eugene Pierce and Blanche Corinne Mabry Tyler, first wife Sarah Yeager Tyler, son Randy Tyler, brothers Harvey Tyler, Tate Carlisle, and William Carlisle, and sister Mary Elizabeth Carlisle McCullough.
