Gerald Franklin Crawford (better known as “Crash”), age 83, of the Looxahoma community passed from this life to his eternal home on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Iris Cove Nursing and Rehab in Memphis, after battling cancer.
He was born in Oxford, Miss., to Harold and Doris Crawford on August 28, 1942. He graduated from Como High School and worked at various occupations throughout his life. He worked at the William Carter Company, Meucci Originals, Bush Hog Continental Gin Company, Alumax, and Performance Towing.
He was a faithful member, Sunday School teacher, member of the church choir and deacon at Looxahoma Baptist Church.
He was married to his longtime soulmate and life partner, Juanita Williams Crawford, for 62 years. He was a loving father and great provider to his four children-daughter, Dianna, sons, Greg, Jason, and Joshua. He was a fun-loving and life of the party grandfather to his seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren whom he loved so very much.
Throughout his life, Gerald was known as a generous, honest and hardworking man. He had a servant’s heart and true love for people. He would always go above and beyond to help his fellow man. Everyone who knew Gerald loved him.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Juanita of 62 years, daughter, Dianna Parker (Michael) of Holcomb, Miss.; son, Greg Crawford (Mary) of Looxahoma and daughters-in-law, Brandy Crawford-Thomas and Brittany Crawford both of Hernando, Miss.
He is survived by his sisters, Patsy Walker and Teresa Mitchell of Memphis, and Dorothy Carrene Lesure (Eric Lewis) of Oxford, Miss.; brother, Paul Crawford (Leslie) of Como, Miss. His grandchildren-Emily Hatch (Jacob) of Olive Branch, Miss., Christina Foster (Brandon), Caleb Crawford of Looxahoma, Micah Crawford (Cheyenne), and Matthew Crawford (Shelby) all of Coldwater, Miss., and Layton Crawford and Rylee Crawford of Hernando. His great grandkids, Braylen Darling of Looxahoma, Aiden Hatch and Forrest Hatch of Olive Branch, Stephanie Crawford and Charlotte Crawford of Coldwater. His step-grandchildren-Everleigh Thomas and Archer Thomas, and Randi Kay Garner all of Hernando.
Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Harold and mother Doris of Como; his sister, Karen Wilson of Como; and his twin sons, Jason and Joshua Crawford both of Hernando.
Services were held Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Looxahoma Baptist Church.
Burial followed in Looxahoma Community Cemetery.
Pate-Jones Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
