To Whom it May Concern,
My name is Richard James Silvio, the loving Nephew of Widow Geneva Blanton of Coldwater. This letter comes to you in a state of shock and anguish. As a resident of the great state of Massachusetts, I was appalled to learn that the County which my Aunt resides in is abusing her in such a horrible way.
My poor sickly Aunt---who is forced to live her golden years tethered to an Oxygen Tank---must sell her own home and move in with family in order to afford to live. The home her husband (the late Jack Blanton---a firefighter, activist, and local hero) built with his own hands is in the process of being stripped, in hopes it may drag in a few measly dollars in today's Housing Market.
While this may seem bad enough, I assure you it only gets worse. The slap in the face and the reason for this letter is this: she is still being forced by her Municipalities to pay a monthly GARBAGE FEE, for a home in which she no longer resides!. What a disgrace and an Embarrassment for Tate County! Why should anyone---let alone an elderly woman---be subjugated to a fee for a service in which they don't use? While the actual charge may not be much, the principle of the matter still stands to reason.
I adore the Southern United States, which is why it pains me even more to watch my poor, loving Aunt go through this agony which the County has forced upon her. This lovely lady, now in her 80s, doesn't even have the ability to write this herself, as her technology skills are subpar to say the least (understandable, given her age), which is why I have decided to write this for her.
I can tell you as a resident of Massachusetts that we up North would never stand for this! I hope the readers of your paper agree, and decide to leap up and bring justice for my dear Aunt Geneva.
Richard J. Silvio
