A man was taken into custody by law enforcement officials in connection with a domestic incident.
Major Gray Nickles from the Tate County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as George Tun, 36, of Coldwater, who was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 9, and charged with domestic violence and aggravated assault. He was detained under a $100,000 bond.
Gray said deputies responded to a disturbance complaint Friday, Feb. 7, near the 4000 block of Highway 305 after receiving reports Tun had been struck by a Tate County school bus in front of a residence. After arriving on scene, deputies discovered the complainant had been assaulted by Tun. Tun was transported by Pafford EMS to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis and treated for his injuries.
Tun was released from the hospital Saturday, Feb. 8, and taken into custody by the Fugitive Bureau of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and held for extradition, according to Nickels.
Tate County deputies transported Tun from 201 Poplar Avenue to the Tate County Jail on Monday, Feb. 10, where he was officially charged.
The case remains under investigation by TCSO.
