Dennis Carl Paulk, age 74, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025.
An avid outdoorsman and devoted husband and father, Dennis was happiest when in a duck blind with his sons. He is survived by his loving wife, Janie Wilder Paulk:, sons Dr. Jason Ashley (Sarah) Paulk, of Olive Branch and Dr. Dennis Ryan Paulk (Kara) of Greenville, S.C. He is fondly remembered as “D” by eight beloved grandchildren: Elijah, Harper, and Silas, of Olive Branch and Caroline, Duncan, Adeline, Hal and Alice, of Greenville.
Dennis was born and raised in Batesville, the oldest child of James Carl Paulk of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and Bettie (William) Henley Burford of Sarah. He attended South Panola High School, followed by St Petersburg Community College, and received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy at University of Mississippi in 1974.
He and Janie moved to Desoto County and founded and managed Desoto Discount Drugs for over 20 years. Always known as a hard worker, Dennis developed a passion for real estate and managed their business until his death.
Dennis was a faithful member of Strayhorn Baptist Church and an advocate for oversees missions taking his family on multiple medical mission trips to Honduras where he shared the Good News of Jesus Christ even learning Spanish to bring others the hope of salvation.
He served on the Northwest Foundation Scholarship Board for Northwest Community College for many years where he and Janie endowed a scholarship to support students in their education.
Other survivors include his sister, Katy (Tony) Vercher of Ocean Springs and his first cousin, Russell (Annabelle) Paulk, Jr. of Batesville.
Pallbearers are Jason Paulk, Ryan Paulk, Russell Paulk, Jr., Eli Paulk, Silas Paulk, Frank Monterroso, Jerry Barrett, and Ed Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Bailey, Robert Seymour, and John Howell.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 6, 2025 at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at noon in the chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Senatobia Memorial Cemetery, in Senatobia.
