A Coldwater man has been sentenced in Tate County Circuit Court for non-compliance on the Mississippi Sex Offender Registry list.
Court records show Donnie W. Davis, 56, was ordered to serve 30 days in Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and four years, 335 days post-release supervision after pleading guilty to a charge of failure to register as a sex offender.
Davis was taken into custody by deputies from the Tate County Sheriff’s Office in July 2021 and charged with failure to register as a sex offender and illegal possession of beer/wine in a dry county. He was indicted in January by the Tate County Grand Jury.
Davis was convicted of rape in Tipton County, Tenn., in 2001.
