A man arrested twice last year on various charges involving children will spend the next several years in prison.
Documents from Tate County Circuit Court show Jeffrey S. McGee, 60, of Senatobia, was sentenced to 15 years in Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and 25 years post-release supervision after pleading guilty to one count of possession of child pornography
McGee also had another charge possession of child pornography, two charges of fondling as a habitual offender, a charge of sexual battery as a habitual offender and a charge of felon in possession of a firearm remanded to the file.
The Senatobia Police Department took McGee into custody March 2, 2021, after an investigation resulted in charges of fondling and felon in possession of a firearm. McGee was released under his own recognizance in connection with those crimes.
Additional charges were brought against McGee a month later after another complaint was filed in relation to inappropriate contact with a child. SPD arrested McGee on April 8, 2021, and charged him with sexual battery of a child, fondling and possession of child pornography.
He was indicted by the Tate County Grand Jury on Dec. 21, 2021.
