A man arrested and charged last year for inappropriate contact with a child has been sentenced in Tate County Circuit Court.
Court records show Donnie Ray Hite, 43, of Sarah, of the 1100 block of Harmon Road in Strayhorn, was ordered to consecutively serve 10 years in Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and 15 years post-release supervision after pleading guilty to two counts of fondling.
Hite had another charge of fondling and a sexual battery charge remanded to the file, according to court documents.
Investigators from the Tate County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation in May 2021 after complaints were filed against Hite. He was officially charged with sexual battery of a minor in June and indicted by the Tate County Grand Jury in October.
