The Mississippi Mud Monsters announce the hiring of David Kerr as the team’s Assistant General Manager. As the first member of the Mud Monsters’ front office, Kerr is expected to play a key role in leading the team’s efforts as they gear up for their inaugural season in the spring of 2025. His responsibilities will include overseeing sales, marketing, and fan engagement.
“There’s a legacy here in Mississippi – not just with the Mississippi Braves, but with this community of passionate sports fans and talented professionals,” said Joseph Eng, owner of the Mississippi Mud Monsters. “David embodies that spirit. It’s a great feeling to bring someone on board with this team who is so committed to creating an unforgettable experience for our fans and building something special for Mississippi.”
Prior to joining the Mud Monsters, Kerr served five years as the Director of Ticket Sales for the Mississippi Braves. His background in baseball operations dates to 2014, when he worked with the RailCats, another MLB Partner League team based in Indiana. Eng said that Kerr’s extensive experience and passion for the sport make him the perfect fit to help launch and grow the Mississippi Mud Monsters.
Kerr, who has called Mississippi home for the past five years, says he is excited to be a part of this new venture. “I’m thrilled to help bring a new chapter of baseball to this community,” said Kerr. “The people here are incredible, and the opportunity to give my friends and neighbors an exciting new baseball experience is something I couldn’t pass up. This part of Mississippi, especially Pearl and Rankin County, offers the amenities of large cities, but with the warmth and accessibility of a small town.”
