Target on Tate 4-H Shooting Sports Club recently had 4 senior members compete in the 4-H Shooting Sports State Invitational. The two-day event was hosted by the Starkville Gun Club in Starkville and the Jimmy Bryan 4-H Youth Complex located in West Point on July 16 and 17.
Jonathan McPeak, Evan Powers, Andrea Richardson, and Zach Terry competed in the shotgun discipline shooting several rounds Skeet, Trap, and 5-Stand. It was the first trip to State Invitational for two of the competitors and all four posted good scores. The group earned the chance to compete at the Invitational by qualifying at the Northwest District Shoot held in Charleston earlier this year.
4-H Shooting Sports is a youth development program made possible through the Mississippi State Extension Service and provides young people with the opportunity to learn responsibility, sportsmanship and self-discipline.
