On Monday, December 16, Marty Stuart’s Congress of Country Music is scheduled to host a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the creation of the world-class museum and cultural center. The Congress will be dedicated to preserving the legacy of country music and its impact on American culture.
Who: Speakers will include Marty Stuart and special guests
What: The Congress will officially break ground on the remainder of the Congress of Country Music campus. This momentous event marks the beginning of a major new cultural development that will celebrate and preserve country music’s rich legacy. The Congress will make a special acknowledgment to Miss Cynthia Lake and the Cynthia Lake Charitable Trust of Reno, Nevada, who has honored the Congress with her kindness and generosity. In turn, a part of the campus will be named the “Cynthia Lake Green Room and Administration Building” in Miss Lake’s honor. In addition to Marty Stuart’s collection of artifacts, the museum will also exhibit additional artifacts from the newly formed partnership with the Country Music Hall of Fame. The ceremony will be followed by a reception inside the newly renovated Ellis Theater, featuring special guest speakers and live musical performances.
When: Monday, December 16, 2024, at 4:00 PM
Where: The ceremony will take place outside the future entrance of Marty Stuart’s Congress of Country Music Museum, located at 311 Byrd Ave., Philadelphia, MS 39350. Following the ceremony, the celebration will move indoors to the Ellis Theater for the reception and performances.
