City leaders are reminding the community the parking area on the south side of the Senatobia Municipal Court building will be temporarily unavailable the next couple of months.
The parking lot at 133 North Front Street was closed Monday, March 24, and will remain closed throughout April and May. That includes areas behind and adjacent to the municipal courtroom.
The parking lot is being torn out as part of the Downtown Revitalization Plan which will gradually affect different downtown areas as the project progresses. A city official said originally the project was set to begin on College Street but changed because work on the roundabout at U.S. Highway 51 and West Main is not complete.
Visitors to downtown Senatobia are urged to use parking areas at Gabbert Park and other public parking spaces on Main and Front Street.
Parking in front of Senatobia Fire Station No. 1 at the corner of Front and College Street is strictly prohibited and could result in a citation and/or your vehicle being towed.
