Barbara Sue Jones Johnson, 71, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at her home in Sardis, MS. Sue was born in Shaw, MS, on September 29, 1950, to Reginald and Helen Grace Sullivan Jones. She was a lifetime member of Church of Christ and was a member of Sardis Church of Christ for twenty-five years. For approximately ten years, she was employed by the Panola County Sanitation Department and was a dispatcher for the City of Sardis. Sue continued her state employment, with the MS Department of Human Services, where she retired after twelve years of service. She had many hobbies and interests, which included collecting anything “Magnolia”, such as china, pottery, prints and other countless “Magnolia” items. She enjoyed playing Yatzee, Face Ten, Hearts, and Rook, loved listening to all country and gospel music and watching Lifetime network. The “apple of her eye” was her grandson, Tre’, who lovingly called her “Zoo Zoo”. She thought the sun rose and set in him and nothing gave her more joy, than attending his baseball games and school programs. Left to cherish her memory is her loving family, which includes her devoted husband of forty-one years, Hal Johnson, of Sardis; one son Clint Johnson and his wife, Bethany and one grandson, Tre’ Johnson, all of Looxahoma; three sisters, Faye Donahue (Harold) of Batesville, Nell Milsaps of Batesville; and Dottie Blansett (Tony) of McCarley, MS.
