Absentee voting is underway in Tate County for the primary election, which includes races for U.S. Senate and U.S. House District 1.
Voters who cannot cast a ballot at their precinct on Election Day Tuesday, March 10 may vote absentee either in person or by mail.
In‑person absentee voting is available at the circuit clerk’s office at the Tate County Courthouse Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday absentee voting is set for Feb. 28 and March 7 from 8 a.m. to noon. Saturday, March 7 is the final day to vote absentee in person.
Eligible voters may also request an absentee ballot by mail by contacting the Tate County Circuit Clerk’s office at 662‑562-5211.
The usual Tate County voting precincts on Election Day – Tuesday, March 10 – will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters must present photo identification such as a driver’s license, military ID or university ID.
Those without an acceptable ID can obtain a Mississippi Voter Registration ID card from the circuit clerk’s office.
