Northwest rodeo coach Will Lummus had yet another strong showing in this year's Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, finishing second in the average and world standings for steer wrestling.
Lummus finished as the runner-up to average champion Cash Robb by just one tenth of a second. In his first NFR appearance, Robb finished at 43.1 seconds, compared to Lummus' average of 43.2 seconds.
Lummus also finished in second for the world standings, beating out Robb's third-place finish and trailing only world champion J.D. Struxness.
Lummus earned nightly victories in steer wrestling in the first and third rounds, earning an opening time of 3.7 seconds and a time of 3.5 seconds in the third round. He also tied Robb for fourth place in the sixth round, with both competitors finishing at 4.2 seconds.
