With warmer weather on the horizon, signs of spring continue to slowly emerge. One of the most notable signals of a new season is the start of high school baseball and softball.
Earlier this week, Senatobia officially released its schedule for the rapidly approaching softball season, highlighted by 13 home dates.
Coach Tammy Young and the Lady Warriors are slated to open the season on Saturday, February 8 with a preseason jamboree at home. A quick road trip to Oxford on Feb. 13 kicks off the regular season, with Rosa Fort scheduled as the home opener on Saturday, Feb. 15.
From there, SHS will have a string of road games at Cleveland Central, Southaven and at a tournament in Grenada, before returning home to host Hernando on Feb. 25 and Center Hill on Feb. 27.
A tournament in Oxford will mark the transition from February to March, with games scheduled for Feb. 28 and March 1. Then, the Lady Warriors host Strayhorn, South Pontotoc, Marion (Ark.) and Oxford throughout the first half of March, before traveling to Strayhorn and Lafayette on March 20-21.
Senatobia’s final five home games of the season will see New Albany, Southaven, North Pontotoc, Byhalia and Cleveland Central all making visits to the Five Star City. The Lady Warriors are scheduled to close out the regular season on April 15 at South Pontotoc.
