A slight schedule change due to incoming snow did little to deter Senatobia’s basketball teams last Thursday, as the Warriors and Lady Warriors took a visit to North Pontotoc, leaving with a pair of victories.
SHS left town with a 53-40 win over the Lady Vikings, stretching the Lady Warriors’ winning streak to five games, dating back to December 20. Additionally, Senatobia has won nine of its last 10 girls’ basketball games, dating back to November 26.
Meanwhile, the Warriors rebounded well from a loss to New Albany, picking up the 77-62 win at North Pontotoc. With the win, SHS improved to 11-5 on the season and 2-2 in Region 2-4A, as the Lady Warriors moved to 13-3 overall and 3-1 in region play.
Next up for Senatobia is a road rematch at South Pontotoc, scheduled for Tuesday, January 14. The Lady Cougars handed SHS its only region loss, while the Warrior boys will be aiming for the season sweep against South Pontotoc, after picking up an 83-79 victory on Dec. 17.
Senatobia will also travel to Independence on Friday, Jan. 17 for a non-region rivalry. Those games are anticipated for a 6 P.M. girls’ start and a 7:30 tipoff for the boys’ matchup.
