The Town of Coldwater held its first council meeting with newly elected Mayor Glenn Billingsley and an-all new board of Aldermen/women Tuesday, July 6.
In the meeting the board chose to accept Judge John Perry as the City Judge after holding an executive discussion on the topic of personnel. Mayor Billingsley moved to recess the meeting until Thursday, July 8 to give the board more time to consider additional personnel changes.
The board also made actions in the following business:
•Accepted minutes from the June 2021 Town meeting
•Accepted the June claims docket including $6,000 paid to George Hubbert
•Nominated and accepted Pat Carr as Vice Mayor
•Moved to update signature cards on bank accounts and remove former Coldwater Mayor Jessie Edwards from all accounts
•Approved The Grove Baptist Church to use the Community Center on July 11, 18 and 25 for Vacation Bible School
•Approved the State of Mississippi to use the Community Center or the Culture Center July 21-23 as a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination center
•Approved the motion for a town audit
The next Town of Coldwater meeting will be held August 3.
