Update7:40 p.m. Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance confirmed Richard Crum is in custody by the Tate County Sheriff's Office and no further threats are at risk for residents.
Update 5:51 p.m.: Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance confirmed Richard Crum, who was booked into Tate County Jail at 3:28 p.m. is the suspect charged with first degree murder in connection with shooting and killing six victims in Arkabutla.

Update 5:33 p.m.: Tate County Sheriff's Office made the following statement on social media:
"As many of you are aware, earlier today there was a series of shootings at three different locations in Arkabutla, resulting in the deaths of six people. We are in the very early stages of the investigation so we can only release a limited amount of information. What we do want the community to know is that the suspect is in custody. Richard Dale Crum, 52, of Arkabulta was arrested this afternoon and charged with First Degree Murder in connection with this case. Additional charges, for each of the other victims, will be filed in the coming days. Crum is being held without bond in the Tate County Jail."
Tate Record obtained a photo that appears to be from a surveillance camera possibly from Arkabutla Dam Store, the location of one of the shooting incidents. It shows a man who matches the description of the suspect who was booked into Tate County Jail at 3:28 p.m. this afternoon. Tate Record has not independently verified the identity of the suspect and will hold on releasing the photo until that is done.
Unconfirmed reports show Richard Crum, the possible suspect in the shooting of six individuals in the Arkabutla community has been booked into Tate County Jail.
Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance confirmed earlier today six people are dead in the Arkabutla community following a series of shootings.
Although law enforcement officials have not yet released the identity of the shooter, it has been confirmed the suspect is in custody of the Tate County Sheriff's Office. Officials from Mississippi Bureau of Investigation have been notified and are in route to assist with the investigation.
According to unconfirmed reports, one shooting occurred within the Arkabutla Dam Store, where one male victim was shot.
A female victim was also shot inside a residence on Bend Road. At the same residence, a man was also injured; however, officials do not believe it was by gunfire.
Reportedly, TCSO deputies spotted the suspect inside a vehicle on Arkabutla Dam Road and he was taken into custody.
TCSO deputies later found four more deceased gunshot victims. Two were located inside a home on Arkabutla Dam Road and two were found outside the home.
