While a young college student was preparing for his graduation he contracted a dangerous disease, one that could possibly take his life. However, he did not dispair. A friend stated, “I am so sorry!” And then asked, “How can you be so cheerful and face every day with confidence, and without bitterness?” The young man answered, “You see, it never touched my heart!”
As we grow older the chances are greater that we may experience a threatening illness, or disease. It’s all part of aging. But we must understand that, as we walk within God’s plan we have children and grandchildren walking that path with us. It’s all in how we respond to God that matters, not only to us, but in our witness to them. As you walk with God, create a lasting confirmation for these precious ones that God is with you. Through the fragrance of God, you can demonstrate that you possess a conquering Spirit who walks beside you through each joyful moment, as well as each trial in life. That’s the legacy I want to leave. How about you?
