A suspect arrested for his role in the 2021 death of a Senatobia man has been sentenced in Tate County Circuit Court.
Documents show Joel Bradley Jr, 34, of Senatobia, was ordered to serve five years in Mississippi Department of Corrections and five years post-release supervision after pleading guilty to a charge of accessory after the fact to murder.
Bradley Jr. and Marshall Moore Jr., 33, of Como, were originally charged with conspiracy and first-degree murder by the Senatobia Police Department during an investigation into the death of Darell Leverson, 41, of Senatobia, on Saturday, May 30.
Senatobia Police Chief Richard Chandler told the Tate Record officers were responding to a separate disturbance call at Dreamland Hotel in the 500 block of East Main Street at approximately 2:50 a.m., when they heard gunshots nearby.
Leverson’s body was discovered at the intersection of Scott and Cox Streets with a fatal gunshot wound to his chest. Chandler said Leverson also had facial injuries.
Bradley Jr. and Marshall Moore Jr. were arrested within eight hours after the body was found and held at the DeSoto County Detention Center under $750,000 bonds.
Moore Jr. pleaded to a reduced charge of manslaughter Monday, Nov. 21. His case was continued for sentencing in Tate County Circuit Court until January.
