According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Jimmy McClure’s court:
• Joel Bradley Jr., of Senatobia, was sentenced to five years in Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and five years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of accessory after the fact to murder. He must pay $1,546.50 in court costs.
• Destiny Marcum, of Southaven, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication after a guilty plea on a charge of felony fleeing. She must pay $2,591.50 in court costs.
• Devante Jamon Newson, of Coldwater, had his probation revoked to serve 60 days in MDOC on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender.
• Ashley Scroggins, of Water Valley, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication in intervention court after a guilty plea on a charge of obtaining controlled substance by fraud. She had another charge of obtaining controlled substance by fraud remanded to the file. Scroggins must pay $1,817.50 in court costs.
• Liam Tristan Blake Waddell, of Memphis, was sentenced to two days in MDOC and four years, 363 days post-release supervision after a guilty plea on charge of grand larceny. He had charges of conspiracy and burglary of a dwelling remanded to the file. Waddell must pay $1,713.50 in court costs.
• Dewayne Clifton White, of Senatobia, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication in intervention court after a guilty plea on a charge of possession of methamphetamine – two to 10 grams. He had a charge of possession of controlled substance– marijuana –remanded to the file. White must pay $2,130.50 in court costs.
• Everett Joseph Flagg III, of Olive Branch, was sentenced to 56 days in MDOC and five years, 309 days post-release supervision in intervention court after a guilty plea on a charge of possession of methamphetamine – less than two grams as a recidivist. He must pay $2,147.50 in court costs.
• James Skylar Jones, of Southaven, was sentenced to four days in MDOC and four years, 361 days post-release supervision after a guilty plea on charge of grand larceny. He had charges of conspiracy and burglary of a dwelling remanded to the file. Jones must pay $1,713.50 in court costs.
• Noah Taylor Justice, of Hernando, was sentenced to 17 days in MDOC and four years, 348 days post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of grand larceny. He had charges of conspiracy and burglary of a dwelling remanded to the file. Justice must pay $2,063.50 in court costs.
According to court records, the following decisions were handed down in Judge Smith Murphey’s court:
• Kenwoski Kinyamm Garrett, of Senatobia, was sentenced to five years in MDOC and 15 years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He had two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon remanded to the file. Garrett must pay $1,629.90 in court costs.
• Therron Kinte McKinney, of Senatobia, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication after a guilty plea on a charge of possession of methamphetamine – two grams but less than 10 grams as a recidivist. He must pay $1,954.50 in court costs.
• Lyndon Mosley Jr., of Sardis, was sentenced to 20 years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of aggravated assault as a habitual offender. He had charges of conspiracy as a habitual offender and felon in possession of a firearm as a habitual offender remanded to the file.
• William Tyler Scott, of Senatobia, was sentenced to five years in MDOC and 10 years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He had charges of conspiracy and drive-by shooting remanded to the file. Scott must pay $3,823.10 in court costs.
• James Patrick Shaw, of Olive Branch, was sentenced to a year and a half in MDOC and three and a half years post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of felony taking away of a motor vehicle. He must pay $1,627.50 in court costs.
• Quintin Charles Turner, of Lake Cormorant, was sentenced to five years non-adjudication after a guilty plea on charge of possession of tetrahydrocannabinol – two grams but less than 10 grams – with intent. He had a charge of possession of marijuana – more than 30 grams but less than 250 grams – remanded to the file. Turner must pay $1,830.50 in court costs.
• Billy Jack Walker, of Byhalia, was sentenced to 198 days in MDOC and four years, 167 days post-release supervision after a guilty plea on a charge of taking away of a motor vehicle – $1,000 to $5,000 – as a habitual offender. He must pay $1,837.50 in court costs.
Some of the final decisions reported here may be the result of plea negotiations. By law, circuit court judges are not involved in plea negotiations. Most sentences are the result of a negotiated agreement between the district attorney and defendant.
