Son Seekers, the Senatobia Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association joined with the Iron Horse Crusaders out of Batesville and Lion’s Legion of Oxford to participate in the Annual Run for the Son fundraiser on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
The yearly event takes place the first Saturday in May and participants world-wide, from 38 different countries hit the road on the same day to raise money for missions.
The Son Seekers had 28 bikes and 38 attendees for this year’s ride.
The group met at Huddle House in Senatobia with kickstands going up at 10 a.m. to begin their cruise. Heading out they drove around Arkabula Lake and ended up in Tunica around 11:30 a.m. At noon the group joined hands and bowed heads, along with CMA chapters across the lower 48 states, to pray in unison.
The point of the ride is to raise money for missions. The Son Seekers give 60 percent of the funds earned to missions. There are three charities the group divides the money between: Jesus Film, Open Doors and Missionary Ventures.
The other 40 percent of the money goes toward supporting local biker evangelism.
In last years event the Run for the Son event world-wide raised $4,287,035 to go toward international missions.
Derek Brauer, president of the Son Seekers Chapter encourages people to learn more about the group.
“If anyone likes motorcycles and talking about Jesus, make sure to look us up on Facebook,” he said. “Because that’s what we do- ride motorcycles and tell people about Jesus.”
