The Senatobia Culture Club held their March meeting at the Senatobia Presbyterian Church.
Eleven members, two guests of Martha Goodwin, her mother and father, George and Louise Land and a former member of Culture Club, Donna Holt were in attendance. Martha, the hostess, welcomed all guests and gave a devotional on the love of music and how it affects our lives as it is a gift to us, a blessing God has given us.
Following this Martha invited everyone to partake in the delicious refreshments of cheesecake and berries, bacon finger sandwiched, tea and lemonade and encouraged all to partake as they listened to the performers who were our program.
Martha introduced to us Len Lawhon Bruce, White and Chuck Gentry who were part of the Blue Grass Band, Mulberry Jam, calling themselves appropriately the Mulberry Jam Trio. They then delighted us with many talents of song and the music of Blue Grass. Len gave us some history of Blue Grass and then the Mulberry Trio absolutely delighted everyone with their music. We clapped, sang along and were fascinated with the talent here in our own community. Following
their performance we were told that they had recorded music at the Heindl Center along with students and made a record called the Ranger Record which will be released April 7 and the public will be able to hear.
Emmy Jarjoura also noted that the April 3 meeting would be on Good Friday, and it was then voted that the April meeting be moved to the following Friday, April 10. Ann Todd and Ann Taylor are hostesses for April 10, and both agreed to the change. The April meeting will be at the home of Ann Todd. It was voted unanimously to change to April 10.
Hope Ministries will be our continued club project.
"Our president, Ann Todd, then read to the club scripture that is found in our programs: "Now all glory to God, Who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think." Ephesians 3:20.
The meeting was then adjourned.
