The case against a juvenile caught urinating in public by Senatobia police has been dismissed.
In December, Tate County Youth Court Judge Rusty Harlow ordered Quantavious Eason, 11, of Senatobia to serve three months’ probation and write a two-page book report on basketball player Kobe Bryant.
Court records show Judge Harlow held another hearing Monday, Feb. 5, and dismissed a youth court petition seeking to designate the child as one in need of supervision.
The juvenile, who was 10 when the incident occurred, was transported to the Senatobia police station Aug. 10, 2023, after an officer saw him standing alone urinating beside a vehicle in front of a business on Ward Street. The boy’s mother was inside the building at the time.
The Senatobia Police Department released a statement after the incident stating the officer did not observe a parent on the scene during initial contact and the child was not handcuffed. He was taken to the police station to file paperwork before he was released to his mother a short time later.
The officer involved is longer employed with the Senatobia Police Department.
