Bennie Catherine “Katie” Whalen was born on May 3, 1928 in Sardis, MS to parents Benjamin and Lois (Appleton) Hanks and entered into eternal rest on August 29, 2020 at the age of 92. Katie was in the graduating Class of 1946 from Sardis High School. She married the love of her life, Chester Whalen Sr., on December 24, 1947 in Senatobia, MS.
