A McDonald’s general manager is behind bars after reporting a fake bomb threat to the restaurant.
According to reports, on Monday, Nov. 7, Senatobia Police Department was investigating a bomb threat made to Senatobia High School when a call came in to report a bomb threat to McDonald’s located at 203 Norfleet Drive. Investigations began into both incidents.
SPD states enough evidence was discovered which lead to the arrest of the McDonald’s general manager, 21-year old Zartavious Phillips, of Senatobia.
Phillips was taken into custody, Wednesday, Nov. 30, and charged by SPD with false reporting of a bomb. Bond was set at $10,000. According to SPD officials, both threats made to the high school and to the restaurant caused major inconveniences across the city and wasted resources from multiple law enforcement agencies in the region.
Both threats are still under investigation and SPD has not ruled out the possibility the two incidents are connected. Investigators are following leads which have developed in the high school bomb threat as well.
As of press time, SPD could not comment further on the open investigations.
The department asks if anyone has information related to either threat to contact Detective Don McCarrens at 662-562-5642.
