Although Water Valley came close to taking the second set from Senatobia in Tuesday evening’s road non-region volleyball contest, the Lady Warriors used a dominant opening set and even-more commanding third set to take the 3-0 victory against the Lady Blue Devils.
Senatobia took the opening set, 25-15, before edging Water Valley by a 25-22 margin in the middle set. Leading the match 2-0, the Lady Warriors ran away with a 25-10 victory in the clinching set, securing Senatobia’s second consecutive win.
Savannah Berry and A’Destiny Bogan finished with two kills each, and the duo also combined for seven service aces. Colby Grant led the Lady Warriors with seven aces of her own, while Berry and Grace Schumacher totaled one block apiece.
With the win, Senatobia improved to 5-2 on the season, as Water Valley dropped to 0-6 overall. The Lady Warriors will finally open region play on the road next week, traveling to North Pontotoc on Tuesday, September 5 at 6:30 P.M. and Byhalia on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 6 P.M.
